So now I have something up and running. It can run 24X7 and non-stop and I can consider it my new MVP. It’s interesting to note that when I started out on this project, I never imagined it would go this far or even this direction.
About this time, I started researching ways to transmit a signal to my television sets in an economical way. I have seen modules before that would transmit a signal with a very weak signal strength. I found a couple ideas on Amazon but nothing really looked very promising. I put that effort aside and dug it out months later again to have another GO at it.
As luck would have it, I found a module I could order out of Florida that would take an HDMI signal and transfer it to a digital OTA signal. It allowed me to specify a frequency, channel and name. I could take this module and connect it to my TV antenna array and it would “inject” a new channel. If I hit auto tune on the TV, it would pick it up as a new channel.
Sadly, it was a little bit costly ($500) but it would allow me to not only get out of the HDMI business but also scale out to multiple channels. So I bought one anyway.
And now the stage is set! That’s the background and the definition of NIAS TV.
What next?
